Statement

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_separator][vc_column_text]My work draws influence from symbols used to convey information (scientific or mathematical in nature) as a means to question our belief and knowledge structure. The forms I make often reference these symbols (usually in the form of diagrams or illustrations) that are used to convey empirically derived information that must be trusted faithfully in our (or at least most of our) position as the layperson. Though this relationship extends beyond the scientific, I gravitate towards the formal aspects of this information in addition to its semantic content. I hope that through this exploration of people’s relationship to this data I can bring to light the way they approach information. Though my work may not be perfect examples of the scientific diagrams they draw influence from or even examples at all, that inaccuracy brings into question the models we have come to take as true.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
